The Chinese are aware of the next step for manufacturing. Yet they have mostly last generation manufacturing and the additional drag of too much disruption from automating people out of their jobs.
America, on the other hand, has little to abandon to move to the robot age. It's a challenge of who will adapt the fastest. If we don't carefully plan, something the wealthy really dislike, not the wealthyor the middle-class or the poor will move to the new industrial age. Planning multiplies investment, the rest is just consuption.
